Steven Moffat On David Tennant And Matt Smith In The Special: "They Are Gorgeous Together"

During last weekend's San Diego Comic Con, Steven Moffat spoke to online media news magazine TV Equals about the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special.

As well as enthusing about how exciting it was to see what "proper screen legend" John Hurt would do with the role, the Doctor Who showrunner also spoke about the thrill of bringing the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors together.

"David and Matt together at last, Doctor on Doctor, and that's quite special," he said, "You don't know if it's going to be a great double act, but actually it is a great double act!"

Steven continued, "They are gorgeous together, in a very different way to any other Doctor meeting because they sort of love each other, which is hilarious. Because they're two quite highly caffeinated Doctors, so they're sort of bouncing around saying, 'Ooooh, we're both the Doctor', so that's lovely!"
